RALLY


This class covers the
Rally exercises for AKC competition.

Introduction to Rally is for the dog handler team that has the desire to participate in AKC Rally trials.  Rally emphasizes fun & excitement for the dog/handler team while providing an interactive approach to obedience.  Rally provides a link from the Canine Good Citizen (CGC) program to formal obedience or agility competition, both for dogs & handlers.  The focus is on teamwork, communication & fun, rather than precision.  The exercises involved in the course will help build your skills as a handler & increase your dog's repertoire of behaviors.  Praise, encouragement, & continuous communication are permitted in this sport.

Class Prerequisite
Successful Completion of Foundation II or higher.  Dogs MUST have a solid Sit, Down, & Stay, they must also have an understanding of With Me.

This class would encompass all levels.  It will give beginners the start they need, cover Advanced and Excellent exercises, and give tips for preparing and showing at all levels.  Unlike the rally classes we hope to start in the fall (7 week format with separate levels), this is more of a workshop or seminar given over a four week period, but with the advantage of a week's practice between each lesson.  Observers are welcome, but you must register with the office.                                                                  

Cost: $60 for non-members, $48 for members, $20 for keybearing.  Audit: $10 for non-members, $5 for members, & keybearing - Free.
