Why join?
The purpose of CABTC is to disseminate knowledge of dog training techniques, to conduct classes for dogs and their handlers, to hold and support AKC trials and events in all dog sports and to encourage good sportsmanship.

Networking
You can meet people who can help you learn the ropes for showing, competing in agility, obedience, rally, scent, or any other activity.

You will be eligible for discounts on classes, seminars, and other events hosted by CABTC.
Support for your dog
We are a community of individuals who prioritize supporting each other and their dogs. From providing opportunities for proper dog socialization, to providing insight on various training equipment, to saving you a crating spot at the next trial, CABTC membership can open many opportunities for finding the support you need on your dog companionship journey.
Learn from experts
You will be surrounded by experienced members who have seen and done it all. Whether it’s dog sports, dog training, or just the best way to show your dog that you love them, CABTC membership holds a wealth of knowledge on how to succeed and enjoy building a partnership with your dog.
Volunteering
CABTC is an entirely volunteer-run organization. You can volunteer for tasks like stewarding, producing the newsletter, building maintenance and more. No matter what skills you bring to our organization, there is a way for you to help or learn something new!

Working with others to help dogs can give you a sense of security and elevate your confidence as a trainer. CABTC prides itself on creating a welcoming community of diverse individuals who share a common love for dogs, dog training, and dog sports.
Resources
If there is a resource out there, someone in our club has tried it! You can get personalized insights from experienced club members about resources for dog training, showing, and competitions that may be helpful for your dogs. Sometimes our members can even help you get access to discounted or free versions of a variety of resources.
Your commitment
CABTC is entirely run by volunteers.
While there are many benefits of joining CABTC, becoming a member means that you are choosing to become one of the workers that keeps the Club running.
How to apply?
The Process:
If you are interested in becoming a member, you will need two sponsors who have knowledge of your partnerships with your dogs and of your ability to contribute to the Club. These sponsors will fill out a form listing your qualifications.
Submit an application (See form below), along with your two sponsorship letters and a check for your first year of membership.
Your application will be presented to the Board and if accepted, will be presented to the membership. Your application will be published in the club newsletter, Loose Leads. It will be read, along with sponsor letters at three membership meetings. Your membership will be voted on at the third meeting.
As part of the membership process you are asked to attend a Board meeting. You must be present at the first and third reading of your application to the membership.
