Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of Cleveland All-Breed Training Club, Inc. ("CABTC"). The membership requirements are set forth below for your convenience. Be sure to follow them in order to avoid needless delays. We encourage and invite you to be an active member of CABTC by attending, participating and volunteering in CABTC functions.
1) Review the membership packet which includes a Membership Application, two (2) sponsorship forms, and a copy of the
CABTC Bylaws.
2) Fill out the online Membership Application completely. You also need to be sponsored by two (2) current CABTC members in good standing. Each sponsor must fill out and sign one of the Sponsorship Forms found on the website. Your sponsors will fill out the sponsorship separately which will be linked to your application once submitted. However, it is your responsibility to ensure that your sponsor has submitted their sponsorship form for your application to be complete.
3) Complete the packet by submitting the online Membership Application, ensuring both of your sponsors fill out a Sponsorship Form, and making a payment in the amount of fifty dollars ($50.00) for an individual membership or sixty dollars ($60.00) for a household membership. Applicants submitting an application on or after October 1st shall not be required to pay dues for the succeeding year.
If applying for a household membership a separate application must be submitted for each applicant. They may use the same sponsors. Both applicants will need to fulfil the volunteer and meeting requirements.
4) All applications,
completed no later than the Tuesday before the upcoming Board of Director's meeting, will be read at the next Board of Directors’ meeting. These meetings are held monthly, except in December. Your name will be published in the next issue of “Loose Leads,” allowing membership an opportunity to respond to your application. Additionally, your application will be read at the next three (3) membership meetings.
Membership meetings are held bi-monthly and the dates can be obtained from the Membership Chair. At a minimum you must be present during the first and third membership meetings to have your application read. At the third meeting, at least one (1) of your sponsors must also be present.
5) During the application process, you must also attend at least one (1) Board of Directors' meeting and volunteer at one (1) or more CABTC-sponsored activities. These must take place before your Membership Application will be submitted to the CABTC membership for a vote (at the third membership meeting). We also encourage you to take an available class at CABTC.
6) If all application criteria are met, following the third reading, your application will be voted on by the membership. A two-thirds affirmative vote is required to elect an applicant to membership. If an applicant is not elected to membership, a full refund will be provided by the club to the original payment method.
