Her resources cover everything from puppy foundations to ring preparation, proofing, and advanced problem-solving.

Connie is the author of the book Dogs Are Problem Solvers, Handlers Should Be and the DVD series How Dogs Learn: The Connie Cleveland Method. She’s also a regular contributor to Front & Finish and Golden Retriever News, sharing insights that have shaped the sport of competitive obedience.

ABOUT THE SEMINAR: Connie typically begins her seminars by spending an hour on the morning of the first day discussing how dogs learn. She will then work with the handlers and dogs attending.
On the first day, Connie generally concentrates on foundational skills—attention, heeling, retrieving, and recalls—as these are common areas where many handlers face challenges or uncertainty in their training approach. The second day shifts focus to a broader range of issues and questions, including go-outs, article work, drop on recall, and improving overall ring performance.

WORKING SPOTS: Limited working spots. One dog per working spot. Applying for a Working Spot does not guarantee acceptance.

AUDITING SPOTS: One or Two-Day auditing spots available. Depending on the number of people attending, dogs of those auditing may be crated in another area, away from the seminar.

WAITLIST: When working spots have filled, a waitlist will be created with priority given to two-day auditors requesting a working spot. Registration fees are not refundable when working spots have filled unless we are able to fill the spot from our waitlist.

WHAT TO BRING: Chair, crate, and mat to put under your crate/chair. All dogs must be crated when not working in the ring or going outside. Those with Working Spots should bring plenty of soft, high value treats for your dog.

FOOD: Breakfast items, lunch, snacks, beverages are included.
